It all started deep in the bushveld, during a hunting trip in Alldays. One unforgettable night, the lodge owner pulled out a curious wooden contraption. At first glance, I couldn’t quite grasp its purpose, but as everyone gathered around and eagerly participated, a lightbulb went off. This wasn’t just a novelty; it was a brilliant product, perfectly suited for our vibrant, fun-loving South African nation.

The very next week, back home, my mind was buzzing with ideas. I immediately began sketching designs, gathering a few simple parts I had lying around. My hands found their rhythm as I started to craft the first prototype, working with beautiful rosewood. Two days later, with the final touches in place, Mr. Snuff was officially born.

Initially, there was a fair bit of skepticism. People looked at this new device with a mixture of curiosity and doubt. But that quickly changed. I started taking Mr. Snuff everywhere – to braais, parties, and of course, back on hunting trips. The reaction was explosive. People loved it!

Over time, Mr. Snuff has accumulated a few nicknames. Whether you call it a Snuff Cannon, Snuif Kanon, Snuff Machine, or Snuff Masjien, the name doesn’t matter. What truly matters is the experience it delivers.

Since that first one was built in 2020 by M Janse van Rensburg, we’ve sold over 1500 units across South Africa, and our sales continue to grow each year.
